Every student who wants to register for the O Level examinations in 2011 has to meet certain criteria as set out by the Singapore Examinations and Assessment Board (SEAB).
Examination Entry Requirements
You may register as a private candidate if you satisfy the minimum age requirement of 15 years as at 1st January 2011.
Private candidates may register up to a maximum of NINE subjects
Subject Entry Requirements (Science with Practical paper)
If you are registering for any Science subject with a practical paper at O-Level, you must
have sat the subject at O-Level previously, OR
are currently attending or will be attending a course of instructions in the subject offered at an ITE or a private school. (Such as the course offered at DDI)
Your entries for the science subjects will only be accepted when you meet the above requirements
Candidates registering for any Science subject with a practical paper are required to declare online at the time of registration that they fulfill the above requirement. If a false declaration is made, their registration for the science subject with practical paper is liable to be cancelled without refund of the examination fees.
Subject Entry Requirements (Science with SPA paper)
Only private candidates who have obtained SPA marks in Sec 4 in 2010 can register for Science subjects with SPA paper in 2011. These private candidates will not have to sit for the SPA paper. Their 2010 SPA marks obtained in Sec 4 will be used in the computation of their overall subject grade, under the following conditions:
Candidates declare and opt for their 2010 SPA marks to be used in the computation of their overall subject grade without requesting that their 2010 SPA marks be made known to them.
All SPA marks must be carried forward. Private candidates cannot opt to carry forward some SPA marks and retake some assessments.
SPA marks can only be carried forward for one year.
Candidates will not be able to carry forward their SPA marks if they have been granted exemption from any assessment for SPA paper in Sec 4 in 2010. Such candidates are advised to register for Science subjects with a practical paper instead.
